Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari reviewed all the ongoing national highway projects costing more than Rs 100 crore in Madhya Pradesh by holding a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During this, he stressed on the possibilities of shifting the trees cut during road construction and suggested to the MP to prepare a roadside tree-plantation policy. In this, all possible assistance was assured from the Highway Ministry. Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh gave information about the construction work being done in the state under the leadership of MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. An agreement was signed between the National Highway Logistics Management Company and MP Road Development Corporation for the ropeway in Ujjain. Under the Parvat Mala project, an important agreement was signed between the National Highway Logistics Management Company and Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation to build ropeways in Ujjain and Sagar cities. On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Prakash Gaur from National Highway Logistics Management Company and Managing Director Avinash Lavania from MP Road Development Corporation signed the agreement.
Review of projects worth Rs. 18 thousand crores
In the meeting, Union Minister Gadkari reviewed the progress of 28 projects of National Highway Authority of India in MP worth Rs. 18 thousand crores. He also reviewed the progress of 10 projects of the Public Works Department worth Rs. 4 thousand crores. In the meeting, issues like progress of projects, obstacles in construction works, delays, land acquisition and forest permissions were discussed. Union Minister Gadkari also gave instructions to fix the responsibility of DPR consultants for the changes made during construction in the projects. He said that this review meeting will prove to be an important step towards accelerating the development of infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh and making transport facilities more accessible.
