Various programmes were organized in the city on the occasion of Mahesh Nawami by Bhopal Maheshwari Samaj. The main programme was held at Panchayati Mandir at Marwari Road. A grand Shobha Yatra was taken out. In the decked up chariot, the replicas of Lord Shiv and Parvati were put up while the picture of Lord Mahesh was on the second chariot. Men in traditional clothes and women in saffron saris holding saffron flags took part in large numbers. The bands and decked up horses were the highlight of the procession.
The Shobha Yatra began from Panchayati Mandir Marwari Road and passed through Azad Market, New Itwara, Itwara Road, Chintaman Chauraha before returning to Panchayati Mandir where it culminated. Abhishek, archan, aarti and mahaprasad of Lord Mahesh was performed.
Rituals and worships were also performed at Turant Mahadev Mandir at Indrapuri and Hanuman Tekri at Trilanga. Sharbat was distributed at Marwari Road, ISBT and 10 No. Market.
Under the guidance of Bhopal Jila Maheshwari Samaj, the workers of Shri Maheshwari Samaj ‘Vrihad’, Purvanchal, Madhyanchal and Dakshinanchal and Mahila Mandal greeted members of the community and expressed gratitude towards all.
