Lucknow, Aug 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has said that the responsibility of the judiciary is not limited to the interpretation of the law, but it is also necessary to take sensitive decisions by understanding the problems of the society.
She said that many times such cases come up, on which there is no clear law. In such cases, the judge has to take a decision with his discretion, impartiality and human approach.
In the dialogue program organized for 70 newly appointed trainee civil judges of Civil Judge (Junior Division) 2022 batch at Raj Bhavan on Friday, the Governor said that the present era is the era of technology, so it is necessary to use technology for the right decision and look at every case closely. She told the trainee judges that various types of pressures can come while giving decisions, but right justice can be done only by being impartial.
During this, the Governor, while sharing her experience gained during visit to the districts, said that most of the prisoners lodged in jails are found to be involved in cases like dowry system, land dispute and fraud. She said that awareness in the society is very important for the prevention of these crimes. She suggested that discussions and dialogue programs should be organized on such issues at the district level, especially among women, daughters and in universities, so that people can be made aware of the consequences of these crimes.
The Governor said that the release of a guilty person is not as fatal as the punishment of an innocent person. The judicial officer should take decisions impartially in every situation. The Governor advised the trainees to always listen to the problems of the public, have sympathy, and stay connected with the society.
