Residential facilities to be developed for workers: CM

  • Model night shelters to be built in 16 municipal corporation areas

Bhopal: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that all necessary facilities should be made available for workers near industrial areas. Such arrangements should be made that where new industries are being established, residential facilities should be developed for workers with the help of other organizations. This will also help in controlling slums in industrial areas. The Labor Department should contact organizations like ISKCON and start food arrangements on their lines.

CM Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has pledged to benefit the youth, women and poor sections. Therefore, the Labor Department should take necessary steps in the interest of these sections by increasing coordination with other departments. Training arrangements should also be made in the industrial institute itself for employment based industries. Dr. Yadav was reviewing the activities and schemes of the Labor Department in the Ministry today. Labor and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel was also present on this occasion. It was told in the meeting that the process of building model night shelters for workers is going on in 16 municipal corporation areas of the state.

Mill workers will be given their old dues

CM Dr. Yadav said that the pending cases related to the due payments of laborers should be settled by ensuring a time limit. The state government is committed to get the old dues of the workers of various mills of Indore, Nagda, Ratlam and Gwalior as well as other mills. It should also be reviewed regularly at the departmental level.

Shramik Kalyan Kendras should be built

Dr. Yadav said that model labor welfare centers should be built near such industrial areas where the number of workers is high, so that the workers can get benefits. He directed to build Shramik Kalyan Kendras in Satna, Gwalior. Dr. Yadav said that the grant scheme for purchasing tools and equipment should be linked with PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
