Republic Day celebration at MPCC Office

Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of the 77th Republic Day, a ceremonial flag-hoisting was held at the Pradesh Congress Committee office, Indira Bhavan, here on Monday. The Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Umang Singhar, unfurled the national flag and paid homage to the Tricolour, reaffirming his party’s commitment to the Constitution, democracy and the unity and integrity of the nation.

The event was attended by senior Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, former minister P.C. Sharma, AICC secretary Kunal Chaudhary, organisation vice-president Sukhdev Panse, Seva Dal state president Avneesh Bhargava, SC Department president Pradeep Ahirwar, Bhopal City Congress Committee president Praveen Saxena, Mahila Congress state president Vibha Patel and several other office-bearers and party workers. Representatives of the Seva Dal, NSUI and Youth Congress were also present in large numbers.

After the flag-hoisting, Singhar exchanged greetings with senior party workers, distributed sweets and joined them in celebrating the national festival with enthusiasm.

Extending Republic Day greetings to the people of the state, Singhar said the Constitution was the soul of India and safeguarding it was a collective responsibility. He emphasised the need to strengthen democratic values, social justice, equality and fraternity, and asserted that the Congress would continue its struggle to protect constitutional dignity, democratic institutions and the rights of the common people.
