Rekha Gupta hears public grievances at Jan Seva Sadan, orders swift action

New Delhi, Feb 4 (UNI) Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Wednesday listened to the grievances and suggestions from residents across the city during a public hearing held at the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan, reaffirming her commitment to participatory governance.

Interacting with citizens, Gupta reviewed complaints related to education, healthcare, pensions, damaged roads, waterlogging and sanitation.

She instructed senior officials from the concerned departments to ensure prompt, on-the-spot resolution of issues and warned that negligence in addressing grievances raised during the hearing would not be tolerated.

Taking note of written petitions submitted by residents, Gupta said public hearings play a vital role in strengthening trust between the government and the people.

She said democracy places citizens at the centre of governance, and direct interaction helps ensure accountability and effective service delivery.

“When people can bring their concerns directly to the Chief Minister and see action taken, their confidence in the administration grows,” Gupta said, adding that her government remains fully committed to the welfare of every resident of Delhi.

During the hearing, women and middle-class families from various assembly constituencies expressed appreciation for the government’s decision to provide financial assistance for free LPG cylinders during Holi and Diwali.

Calling the initiative a major relief amid rising prices, women said the scheme would significantly ease pressure on household kitchen budgets.

Responding to the feedback, the Chief Minister said the trust and blessings of citizens motivate the government to work harder.

She added that hearing firsthand how welfare measures are benefiting people strengthens the administration’s resolve to serve, reiterating that public service remains the sole objective of her government.
