Mumbai: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, has successfully handed over two project-specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) related to intra-state transmission projects in Maharashtra on 9 January 2026. The projects were awarded through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.

Velgaon Power Transmission Limited has been transferred to Ceigall India Limited. The project involves the establishment of a 400/220 kV Velgaon GIS substation along with LILO of 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines and associated works. The implementation period is 24 months.

On the same day, Jejuri Hinjewadi Power Transmission Limited was handed over to The Tata Power Company Limited. The scheme envisages the construction of an approximately 115 km long 400 kV double-circuit transmission line from Jejuri to Hinjewadi, along with associated works, to be completed within 24 months.
