Bhopal, Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the Red Cross is a powerful initiative dedicated to human service. He urged its members to uphold the organization’s mission by serving those in need. Governor Shri Patel made these remarks while addressing the annual general body meeting of the Madhya Pradesh branch of the Red Cross. He also honored various Red Cross units for their contributions on this occasion.
Governor Shri Patel urged district units to take inspiration from the award-winning units of the Red Cross branch and strive for excellence in serving those in need. He encouraged healthy competition among the units, fostering positivity and setting an example of dedicated service. Governor Shri Patel emphasized the importance of adhering to the instructions and targets set by the state branch with sincerity and within the stipulated timeframe.
Governor Shri Patel emphasized the crucial role of the Red Cross in advancing efforts to eradicate sickle cell. He stressed the need to organize awareness, testing, and treatment programmes, particularly in rural and remote areas. Governor Shri Patel urged that identified patients be treated with the utmost sensitivity. He also called upon the attendees to make personal efforts to support children and families affected by sickle cell.
Governor Shri Patel was welcomed with a bouquet and felicitated by being presented with a memento. Red Cross State Branch Chairman Dr. Gagan Kolhe presented the welcome address and the progress report of the Madhya Pradesh Red Cross Branch for 2023-24. State Branch General Secretary Shri Ramendra Singh presented the upcoming action plan. Treasurer Shri Shashank Srivastava conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Vice President Shri Bharat Jhanwar proposed the vote of thanks. Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor Shri K.C. Gupta, officials, and members of the State and District Branch of Red Cross Society were present in the meeting.
