- Recover Rs 30 lakh in assets
Bhopal: Ratibad Police have cracked a major theft and forgery case within 24 hours, arresting a former employee of Shri Ji Infrastructure and his scrap dealer accomplice for stealing company assets and cash worth approximately Rs 35 lakh.
The theft, reported on September 23, involved a break-in at the central workshop in Badjhirri, where iron molds, construction material, and Rs 10,000 in cash were stolen.
Police quickly identified the mastermind as a former insider who used his knowledge of logistics to steal materials during routine site transfers. He then created forged documents on company letterhead to deceptively sell the stolen goods. The illicit profits funded a lavish lifestyle, including the purchase of a car, an Apple iPhone, and a house.
Police have seized the house documents, the car, the iPhone, and two pickup trucks used in the crime, recovering assets valued at about Rs 30 lakh. Senior officials have announced a reward for the investigating team. Authorities plan to seek a court order to attach the property bought with the stolen money as further investigation is underway.
