A Bhopal court on Thursday awarded death sentence to a 35-year-old man for the rape and murder of a minor girl last month.
Special Judge (for POCSO cases) Kumudini Patel awarded the punishment to Vishnu Bamora on two separate charges under Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder) and 376-AB (raping a girl of 12-year-old and below).
The accused was also sentenced to life for the offence of unnatural sex with the eight-year-old girl, state prosecution cell’s spokesperson Sudha Vijay Singh Bhadoriya.
The shameful incident took place on 8th June in the capital city where the guilty, Vishnu Bamora raped and later killed the girl and threw her body in a sewer.
The court declared Vishnu Bamora guilty after hearing the arguments from both sides. During this time, the girl’s relatives and her well wishers were waiting outside the court anxiously. The court declared Vishnu Bamore guilty of rape and murder. The body of the 8 year old was found in a sewer on 9th June, after a day of her murder. Vishnu was a neighbor of a little girl, who kidnapped her when she left home to buy something from the market.
The police recovered the victim’s bangles along with other evidences in Vishnu’s house.
Before the decision, the judge asked the guilty if he wants to say anything but the only answer he gave was ‘kuch nahi’ (nothing).
The police worked efficiently and presented a 108 page report. TI of Kamla Nagar Police Station, Alok Shrivastava says that 40 people were made the witness and they presented solid testimony in the court that helped police to prove the accused Vishnu guilty of the crime. Also, the Kamla Nagar police handled this sensitive case carefully and worked with blatant coordination.
According to public prosecutor Manisha Patel, the medical reports clearly proved the accused guilty. Vishnu Bamore is punished under Section 302 and Section 376 of rape and murder. Also, the opposition kept argument that he is under age. According to the police reports Vishnu was 35.
