Rajya Sabha adjourned for fourth day in a row over Adani, other issues

New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) Amid continued protests by Opposition over alleged corruption case against Adani group and other issues, Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day on Friday.

Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar adjourned the Upper House till 11 AM on Monday (2nd December, 2024).

Today was the fourth day of the ongoing Winter Session, when the House proceedings were stalled.

Responding to Opposition members’ demand to have discussion on Adani and other issues by suspending the scheduled proceedings, Dhankhar said that Rule 267 was being weaponised as a mechanism of disruption.

“Now I find Hon’ble Members and I call upon you for deep reflection, Rule 267 is being weaponised as a mechanism of disruption from our normal working. There are very senior members. This cannot be appreciated,” Dhankhar said.

He further said, “The loss of time, the loss of opportunity by not having question hour has given enormous setback to the people at large.”
