Jodhpur, Oct 25 (UNI) The death toll in the Jaisalmer Bus fire tragedy has risen to 27 after one more victim succumbed to his grave burn injuries at the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur today.
Dr Fateh Singh Bhati, Medical Superintendent of MG Hospital, said the injured passenger, Iqbal of Gangana village, died this morning. Four passengers of the ill-fated bus are still being treated at the hospital’s Burns Unit. Two other victims have been shifted to Ahmedabad for further treatment at the request of their families.
The accident occurred on October 14, when a speeding AC Sleeper Coach caught fire while travelling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Twenty passengers were killed and 15 injured initially. An FSL report confirmed that the blaze was caused by a short circuit in the air conditioner.
