Rain starts in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Oct 5 (UNI) With the weather taking a U- turn, rain started in various parts of the state early this morning.

Although the sky was cloudy since early morning, it became dark all of a sudden and rain started in all parts of the state.

The average maximum temperature in the state is currently 0.7 degrees above normal. Temperatures is likely to fall by two to three degrees below normal during the next three-four days. Moreover, there is hailstorm warning for 3 days, storm speed will run at 50KM per hour.

Since last night, the western disturbance has become active in the state, the effect of which will be seen for the next 3 days i.e. till October 7. There are reports of light snowfall on the high reaches of Kangra, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts of the state.

The Meteorological Centre Shimla has issued a warning of rain, hailstorm and thunderstorm for the next three days. Thunderstorms and storms are forecast to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in mountains.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain and hailstorms may occur in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra and Mandi districts of the state today. At the same time, the IMD has predicted rain in most areas. A yellow alert has been issued.
