- Thunderstorms, strong winds likely in several districts
Bhopal: Unseasonal rain during the peak of summer has brought a noticeable drop in temperatures across Madhya Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued showers across various parts of the state through Saturday, with a possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds.
According to meteorologists, moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in central Seoni, eastern Pandhurna, and southwestern Mandla. Additionally, light rain with thunder may occur in southern Chhindwara, eastern Dindori, Narsinghpur, southern Sagar, southern Anuppur, and western Balaghat. Wind speeds could reach 50 to 60 km/h during these weather events.
The IMD attributes this shift in weather to an active cyclonic circulation, which has led to rainfall and even hail in some areas since the last week of April. This weather pattern is expected to persist until Saturday evening.
Looking ahead to Sunday, strong winds and rain are likely in multiple districts including Panna, Katni, Jabalpur, Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia, Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Sagar, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Narsinghpur, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Umaria, Dindori, Anuppur, Satna, Rewa, Maihar, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, and Shahdol.
