Bhopal: The Indian Railways has announced a special “Pitru Paksha” train service to facilitate pilgrims traveling for rituals in Gaya. In anticipation of a large number of devotees performing ancestral rites, the Rani Kamalapati-Gaya-Rani Kamalapati special train will offer a convenient and comfortable travel option during the holy period.
Schedule and stops
Train number 01661 will depart from Rani Kamalapati station on September 7, 12, and 17, 2025, at 1:20 PM, arriving in Gaya at 9:30 AM the next day. The return service, train number 01662, will leave Gaya on September 10, 15, and 20, 2025, at 2:15 PM, reaching Rani Kamalapati at 10:45 AM the following morning.
The special train will have stops at key stations including Bhopal, Vidisha, Bina, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj, and Mirzapur, among others. The train’s composition will include 22 coaches, comprising 4 general, 13 sleeper, 2 AC III Tier, and 1 AC II Tier compartments, ensuring a range of options for passengers.
