Rail connectivity boost: Scindia flags off new halts at Miyana and Pagara

Bhopal: In a major push to strengthen regional rail connectivity, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, inaugurated two experimental train halts on January 8, 2026. These stops are designed to provide better accessibility for commuters in the Guna parliamentary constituency.

= New stop for Bhopal–Gwalior Express at Miyana

Minister Scindia flagged off the Bhopal–Gwalior–Bhopal Express (12197/12198) at Miyana station. This new two-minute experimental halt will see Train No. 12197 arrive at Miyana at 20:18 hrs, while the return journey (Train No. 12198) will arrive at 08:48 hrs. Local leaders and Railway officials, including DRM Pankaj Tyagi, emphasized that this move will empower local trade and travel.

= Enhanced access: Bhopal–Jodhpur Express at Pagara

Simultaneously, a significant halt was inaugurated for the Bhopal–Jodhpur–Bhopal Express (14813/14814) at Pagara station. Addressing the citizens, the Minister noted that the halt would bridge the gap for long-distance travelers. Train No. 14814 will now arrive at Pagara at 21:30 hrs, with the reverse service (Train No. 14813) arriving at 03:33 hrs.

These initiatives by the Bhopal Railway Division reflect a strategic focus on improving passenger services and fostering regional development through enhanced infrastructure.
