Bhopal: A parked car caught fire in the Manisha Market area of Bhopal’s Shahpura on Tuesday afternoon, alarming local residents, according to police reports. The incident occurred on the service road opposite Bansal Hospital, where a Scorpio SUV was parked near a commercial block. Eyewitnesses noted that no one was inside the vehicle when smoke started billowing from its bonnet.
The situation escalated quickly as the smoke turned into flames, engulfing the front of the car. Fortunately, bystanders from nearby shops and residences swiftly intervened, using buckets of water to extinguish the fire before the fire brigade arrived. Their prompt action prevented a potentially larger fire in the busy area.
Fire officials confirmed that locals had extinguished the blaze by the time they arrived. Preliminary findings indicate a short circuit may have caused the fire, with no injuries reported.
