Los Angeles, Jan 8 (UNI) Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas has shared her first look from the much-anticipated film ‘The Bluff’, in which she stars alongside Karl Urban.
The makers released a series of first-look images showcasing Priyanka in a rugged and intense avatar as she takes on the role of a pirate. The visuals highlight a fierce confrontation between Priyanka and Karl Urban’s characters, alongside glimpses of high-octane action sequences and dramatic moments.
Priyanka Chopra, known for her work in ‘Heads of State’, performs a mix of action-packed stunts, drama, and suspense in the film.
She introduced her character on Instagram as “Bloody Mary”, captioning her post: “Mother. Protector. Pirate. Meet Bloody Mary. TheBluff February 25, 2026.”
The film also stars Temuera Morrison in a key role. Produced by the Russo Brothers under their banner AGBO and backed by Amazon MGM Studios, The Bluff is directed by Frank E. Flowers and co-written by Flowers and Joe Ballarini.
Priyanka plays a former pirate whose past resurfaces, forcing her to confront challenges she thought were long behind her. She explained that the film aims to depict pirates in a more realistic light, moving away from fictionalized portrayals.
Priyanka said, “We are making an attempt to show what it was actually like to be a pirate in the 1700s, rather than recreating ‘Pirates of the Caribbean.’ It was fascinating to research real-life pirates like the Irish woman Grace O’Malley. We shot the film in Australia, but it’s set in the Cayman Islands.”
“The pirates used the islands, located between Honduras, Mexico, and Cuba, as a resting place between voyages. That made it a really diverse place, with people from Scotland, Africa, India, and elsewhere, which formed the basis for a really diverse and powerful cast,” Priyanka told Variety.
‘The Bluff’ is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on February 25, 2026.
