- Modi did not issue any slip for industrial development
- State got only lip service: Jeetu Patwari
Bhopal, The President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, Jitu Patwari, sharply criticized Prime Minister Modi’s speech at the recent Investor Summit, accusing him of merely offering empty promises without any substantial plans for industrial development.
Welcoming investors and industrialists to the state, Patwari highlighted that Madhya Pradesh, with its unique traditions and identity, has always aimed to tackle poverty and unemployment through industrial progress. He emphasized that investment is not just a necessity but an absolute requirement for the state’s growth. However, Patwari also expressed concern over the previous promises made during past summits, which led to minimal investment despite grand declarations.
Patwari said, “The people of Madhya Pradesh were eagerly awaiting a transformative speech, but what they got was a recycled set of words, lacking new strategies or commitments.” He added that Modi’s speech failed to address the state’s real challenges, such as the need for industrial packages and the reasons behind past summit failures, where only 3% of promised investments materialized.
Patwari pointed out that while Modi criticized past Congress governments, he failed to outline any specific initiatives or incentives for industrial growth. He contrasted the Congress era, which saw significant investments in industrial hubs like Mandideep, Govindpura, and Pithampur, with the current BJP government’s lack of new industrial developments.
Furthermore, Patwari criticized the government’s neglect of key issues like fair cotton prices for farmers and the lack of railway infrastructure, essential for industrial growth. He questioned why Modi failed to announce crucial developments in railways, air services, and highways, which are vital for Madhya Pradesh’s industrial future.
In conclusion, Patwari accused the Prime Minister of offering nothing more than empty words, leaving the people of Madhya Pradesh disappointed.
