Panaji, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes of late Manohar Parrikar at Kala Academy here on Monday.
The prime minister arrived in the city an hour back and went to Kala Academy where mortal remains of the former defence minister have been kept for the people to pay homage. The Prime Minister also met family members of Parrikar and consoled them.
Besides Prime Minister, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani and Goa Governor Mridula Sinha were among those who paid tributes to the departed leader. While paying tributes Ms Irani got emotional.
The mortal remains of the late chief minister of the state have been kept at Kala Academy. Later it would be taken to Miramar where final rites are to be performed.
