Prime Minister condoles demise of senior BJP leader VK Malhotra

New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief over the demise of veteran BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra, recalling his long-standing contribution to public life and to the growth of the party, particularly in Delhi.

In a message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister described Malhotra as “an outstanding leader” with “a very good understanding of people’s issues.” He noted that the former Parliamentarian would be remembered for his meaningful interventions in the House.

“Shri Vijay Kumar Malhotra Ji distinguished himself as an outstanding leader, who had a very good understanding of people’s issues. He played a vital role in strengthening our Party in Delhi. He is also remembered for his Parliamentary interventions. Pained by his passing away. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” Modi said in his post.

In a separate message in Hindi, the Prime Minister said, “Deeply saddened by the demise of senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra Ji, who remained devoted to public service throughout his life. He was a grassroots leader with a deep understanding of public issues. He played a crucial role in strengthening the Party in Delhi and will also be remembered for his active role in Parliament. My heartfelt condolences to his family and well-wishers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti.”

Messages of condolence also poured in from various political quarters, acknowledging Malhotra’s decades-long service in politics and his contributions as a scholar, administrator, and public representative.

Malhotra, a veteran figure in Delhi politics, had served in various capacities, including as a Member of Parliament and held key positions in the BJP.
