New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today accused the previous governments of allegedly recruiting interns through political influence for pushing certain agendas.
Speaking to reporters here Rekha Gupta also alleged that previous governments extended financial benefit to those politically recruited interns.
However, she claimed that this time the recruitment of the interns under the current government has been done under utmost transparency and is for the youth of the national capital.
She informed about the commencement of the Viksit Dilli CM Internship program, under which 87 young interns have been selected to work with the state government.
She said that during the upcoming three months these youngsters will be connected with the policies and the schemes of the Delhi government.
“It is for the first time that young minds are being given such direct participation in the governance process,” CM claimed.
According to CM, the internship program is a historic initiative aimed at grooming future policy-makers and making democracy more vibrant. This internship program is a platform that will prepare the future policymakers, and is an initiative to make democracy more full of life in this direction, she said.
This initiative is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s internship Scheme and represents a new approach to incorporating youthful perspectives into governance.
After a three-day training, the selected youth will receive a three month paid internship in various departments of the Delhi government.” she added.
