New Delhi, Aug 13(UNI) President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Summer Annuals of Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow.
The garden will be open to the public for viewing from August 16 to September 14, offering visitors a unique blend of natural beauty, artistic landscaping and serene experiences.
This year a key highlight is the introduction of ‘Babbling Brook’, a naturalistic water feature that replaces the earlier musical fountain. Designed to enhance the sensory appeal of the gardens, this new addition includes meandering water streams with cascades, sculptural spouts, stepping stones and a raised reflecting pool.
Visitors can explore various landscape zones such as Banyan Grove, featuring reflexology paths, Panchatatva trails, and forest-inspired soundscapes; Herbal and Plumeria Garden, with grass mounds and curated plantations for an immersive sensory experience.
The garden trail will also include Bal Vatika, Herbal Garden, Bonsai Garden, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden.
The Amrit Udyan will open from 10 AM to 6 PM (last entry at 5:15 PM) and will remain closed on all Mondays for maintenance.
Special access will be granted to athletes and sports persons on August 29 (National Sports Day) and teachers on September 5 (Teachers’ Day).
The entry will be free of cost. Visitors can book their slots online at visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in, or register as walk-ins through Self-Service Kiosks placed outside Gate No. 35 (near North Avenue Road) which serves as the sole entry and exit point.
Visitors can carry items including mobile phones, electronic keys, purses, handbags, water bottles, baby milk bottles and umbrellas. No other items will be allowed inside the Udyan.
With its blend of tranquil natural elements and artistic design, this year’s Summer Annuals at Amrit Udyan promise a refreshing and enriching experience for all visitors.
