President Murmu in Kochi today for St. Teresa’s College Centenary: Traffic curbs in city

Kochi, Oct 24 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu, who is on a four-day visit to Kerala, will be the chief guest at the centenary celebrations of St. Teresa’s College here today.
The President will arrive in Kochi by helicopter from Kottayam at 11:30 am and will be received at the Naval Base air station. From there, she will proceed by road to St. Teresa’s College, reaching the venue around 11:55 am.
After attending the centenary event, the President will return to the Naval Base helipad at 1:20 pm and fly to Cochin International Airport by helicopter at 1:45 pm. She is scheduled to depart for New Delhi by a special aircraft at 1:55 pm.
In connection with the President’s visit, traffic restrictions have been imposed in Kochi city from 10 am to 2 pm. The restrictions will be in place along key routes, including Naval Base–Thevara, MG Road, Jose Junction, BTH, Park Avenue Road, Menaka, and Shanmugham Road.
Tight security arrangements have been made across Ernakulam district as part of the high-profile visit.
Yesterday, President Murmu attended programmes at Sivagiri in Varkala and at Pala before proceeding to Kumarakom, where she stayed overnight at the Taj Resort.
Earlier, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar saw the President off from Raj Bhavan, presenting her with an idol of Lord Ayyappa as a memento of her stay in Kerala.
