Patna, Jan 6 (UNI) Founder of ” Jan Suraaj ” Prashant Kishor vowed to resume his fast unto death dharna at Gandhi Maidan after he was released on bail following his arrest on Monday morning.
Kishor, popularly known as PK, sitting on fast unto death dharna at Gandhi Maidan since Thursday last in support of demands of BPSC aspirants, including re-examination after the cancellation of the Preliminary Test earlier held on December 13, was arrested by the district administration of Patna.
PK was arrested by the administration as Gandhi Maidan was not a designated place for dharna and protests and he had refused to shift the dharna to the Gardanibagh locality, despite repeated requests by the authorities concerned.
PK was produced in the court of Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate of Patna Arti Upadhyay where he was granted conditional bail for not doing such activities again.
Kishor was taken to Beur jail but later shifted to Beur police station from where he was released on bond, as per legal requirements.
Kishor, after being released, claimed that he was given conditional bail but later granted unconditional bail. Condition of not doing dharna and agitation was not acceptable to him, he stated.
PK declared that he would resume his fast unto-death dharna at Gandhi Maidan. A meeting of youths active in the agitation would be held and the form of the agitation, would be finalised, he added.
Kishor said that he would lend all support to BPSC aspirants and all other youths facing difficulties in getting government jobs due to paper leaks and other irregularities in competitive examinations. Barring CPI(ML), no opposition party had protested on streets in support of agitating BPSC aspirants, he pointed out.
PK said that the number of days of Nitish Kumar’s government was numbered. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would not get another opportunity to celebrate Makar Sankranti after this year as he would be listed from the power in state assembly elections slated for October-November this year, he added.
Kishor said that RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were free to lead the agitation of students if they wished. Who had prevented them from taking a lead in students’ agitation, he retorted while responding to queries from media persons regarding allegations of opposition that the students movement was hijacked by him.
