Power struggle over Karnataka CM’s post intensifies, MLAs camp in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 24 (UNI) The tussle over the chief minister’s post in Karnataka continues, as over half a dozen Congress MLAs arrived in Delhi late Sunday, the latest in a week-long stream of legislators heading to the capital.

Political activity within the Karnataka Congress has intensified sharply in recent days. According to sources, MLAs aligned with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar have been knocking on the doors of the Congress leadership in Delhi, demanding a change of chief minister. This is the third time in a week that legislators from the Shivakumar camp have reached Delhi.

MLAs, who have expressed dissatisfaction with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, are camping in Delhi.The legislators believe that all is not well within the party and that the leadership must take a decision. They have checked into hotels in Delhi and are waiting for a response from the high command.

According to sources, the MLAs are upset over issues such as budget allocation, ticket distribution, and power-sharing. However, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and leaders close to him have refrained from making public statements on the MLAs’ Delhi visits and the demand for a change in leadership.

Notably, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is currently in Bengaluru, holding meetings with local leaders. On the question of changing the Karnataka chief minister, Kharge has said that no decision will be taken in haste.
