Power of people’s vote brought change, reason behind reforms on ground: Delhi CM

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, addressing the public on Tuesday said that the ongoing reforms and the development works are not just the achievements of the government, but the reason behind the reforms is the power of peoples’ vote that got a change in the city.

Gupta in her address at the inauguration of a new bus terminal in Azadpur said that the change that people brought in the Delhi is the reason now reforms are visible on ground with development works speeding up and the city moving forward on the path of progress.

She said that the national capital was battling multiple issues and entangled in different problems for several years, alleging that the previous government which was more into advertising, did not address and resolve the city’s problems.

Meanwhile, amid the ongoing works to modernize the city’s public transport infrastructure, Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated the upgraded bus terminal at Azadpur, from where 21 major routes will be operated.

Taking to social media platform X, CM stated, “The upgraded bus terminal with modern facilities at Azadpur has been dedicated to the service of Delhi’s citizens.”

According to CM, the new modern terminal is an important step towards making the public transport system more passenger friendly, faster and safe.

Notably, a total of 116 buses will operate from this particular terminal, while the facility has been equipped with modern facilities that include a covered walkway, connectivity with the Azadpur metro station through the foot over bridge, a baby feeding room, modern waiting area and others.

Apart from the inauguration of the new terminal, 40 new electric buses were also flagged- off on Tuesday, while CM said that the government is adding E- buses to the DTC’s fleet which is a very important step in making the public transport more environment friendly, and also help in fighting pollution issues.

Notably, with the addition of these 40 new E- buses the total number of these have reached 1390 during the past eight months.

Delhi’s Transport Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh, and MLA Raj Kumar Bhatia were also present on the occasion.

This bus terminal, which is connected to the metro station through a foot over bridge also reflects the vision of intermodal connectivity, which promotes seamless coordination.
