Power Minister Gheraoed during Modi govt. achievements event

Dabra: Madhya Pradesh’s Energy Minister, Pradyuman Singh Tomar, faced an unexpected public gherao in Dabra while attempting to highlight the Modi government’s 11 years of achievements. Local residents, frustrated by persistent power outages, surrounded the minister’s event, prompting police to set up barricades to control the crowd. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the minister personally engaged with the protestors, listening to their grievances.

The incident unfolded in Dabra, Gwalior district, where residents have been suffering from prolonged and frequent power cuts. Upon learning of Minister Tomar’s presence, the public mobilized to voice their discontent. Despite initial police attempts to block them, the minister invited the protestors to meet him directly.

Minister Tomar acknowledged the electricity issues, attributing them to increased load rather than a shortage of power in the state. He assured residents that efforts would be made to mitigate the problem by installing new power houses and additional transformers.

This isn’t the first time power disruptions have drawn the minister’s attention to Dabra. Previously, he conducted a late-night inspection of a power house at 3 AM to address the same issues, but without significant improvement. In response, DE Shubham Kumar has been replaced by DE Raj Malviya, who is now tasked with overseeing improvements in the local electricity supply.
