French company Electricite de France (EDF) will study the technical and non-technical disadvantages of the electricity distribution network and provide solutions to prevent them. Energy Minister Priyavrat Singh said this during the ‘Project Milestone Meet’. Singh said that the power sector is included in government’s priorities.
Singh said that significant work has been undertaken in the solar energy sector in the state. World-class solar energy plants have been set up in the state. He said that setting up of wind energy plants will be considered in places where the wind speed is fast.
The Energy Minister said that there are 1 crore 60 lakh electricity consumers in the state, who are being provided quality power at reasonable rates. He thanked the French government for providing assistance to the E.D.F. project in F.A.S.E.P scheme.
French ambassador Alexandre Zeigler said that energy is the backbone of development. He said that it should be reliable. Zeigler said that efforts should be made to prevent line losses. He said that renewable energy must promoted.
He said that India and Government of France have a common vision in the field of energy. He said that Energy Minister Singh has a desire to do better work in Madhya Pradesh. CEO of E.D.F. An MoU was signed between E.D.F. and Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company to give recommendations after studying in relation to the losses in distribution network, integration with renewable energy and modernization of distribution grid management.
The technical team of E.D.F. has submitted the report after the study. The project started in April 2018. During this, Additional Chief Secretary Energy Mohammed Suleiman, Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Sukhvir Singh and Managing Director Eastern Region Power Distriution Company Kiran Gopal and other officers were present.
