Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Celebrated actress Pooja Hegde recently joined actors Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur in London for a special screening of her latest film ‘Retro’, which premiered in theatres on May 1.
While the film’s official launch in India saw director Karthik Subbaraj and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj in attendance, Pooja couldn’t make it to the primary screening. However, she participated in an exclusive screening held in Glasgow, London, where she was accompanied by her co-stars from her upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.
In ‘Retro’, Pooja Hegde plays the character of Rukmani, a doctor and healer with a strong aversion to violence. She stars opposite Suriya in this film. Pooja recently offered fans a glimpse into her character through behind-the-scenes photos and with a note of gratitude on social media. Describing Rukmani as “the purest of souls, innocent but intelligent,” she expressed her admiration for the character, wishing that everyone could strive to embody her qualities. She also shared that portraying Rukmani was an incredibly enjoyable experience for her.
With ‘Retro’, Pooja Hegde has added another powerful film to her career, and it seems she is in no mood to stop. Currently, she is filming for her next project ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ in the UK, a breezy romantic directed by David Dhawan, in which she stars alongside Varun Dhawan. The film is expected to release soon.
