Bhopal: Acting on directives from Police Headquarters, Bhopal, Chhatarpur Superintendent of Police Agam Jain has ensured CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) training for on-duty police personnel and Dial-112 staff to enable swift first aid during emergencies. The training, conducted by medical experts, is being imparted through regular practical sessions at headquarters and police station levels.
The impact of the initiative was evident when an elderly man collapsed outside the residence of constable Khagendra Tiwari, posted at the Chhatarpur SP office. Hearing the distressed call of the man’s wife, Tiwari rushed to the spot and immediately administered CPR, having recognised the seriousness of the situation. After sustained efforts, the man’s condition improved, following which he was rushed to hospital in the constable’s own vehicle.
Doctors confirmed the man had suffered a sudden heart attack and said timely CPR saved his life. The SP has announced a reward for Constable Tiwari, calling the act a commendable example of police sensitivity and commitment to saving lives.
