- Patel pays tribute to the martyred soldiers on Police Memorial Day
Bhopal: Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that in a democratic system, police is the basis of a strong society. The activism of the police and its behavior makes the common man feel safe. Police should be alert, sensitive and polite towards the common people. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the program organized at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal on Police Smriti Diwas. He paid floral tribute at the martyr’s memorial and had a cordial meeting with the family of the martyred police personnel. Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain was also present in the program.
Governor Shri Patel said that police is an integral part of the society. It is not possible to bring the idea of development to fruition without the active participation of the police. An environment of peace, harmony and brotherhood in the society is very important for development. He said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that Madhya Pradesh Police is counted among the best forces of the country. The state police has made the motto of ‘patriotism-public service’ meaningful. Records have been set with high standards of dedication.
Police should keep itself updated
Governor Shri Patel said that it is the big responsibility of the police to maintain the integrity, social and cultural harmony of the country and state while ensuring law and order. Maintaining coordination with the public is also an important responsibility of the police. He said that the police should keep itself updated in accordance with the changing circumstances. Governor Shri Patel praised the state police for works like planting 1.25 lakh saplings in a single day, establishment of police band and women police station in all the districts, target of building 25 thousand houses for police families and establishment of 950 women energy desks.
The honor list of martyred soldiers was handed over to Governor Shri Patel by the pall-bearer party in the program. All the proceedings of the parade salute were done by the party. On this occasion, Director General of Police Shri Sudhir Kumar Saxena gave a tribute address.
