Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police have achieved notable success in recovering lost and stolen mobile phones by strengthening technology-based public services. Acting swiftly on complaints of missing handsets, the police recovered 301 mobile phones through a combination of technical surveillance and coordinated field-level efforts. The total estimated value of the recovered phones is Rs 64.5 lakh. After due legal verification, all the devices were handed back to their rightful owners.
The achievement highlights the police force’s sustained monitoring, cyber expertise and well-coordinated operational approach, reinforcing public confidence in technology-enabled policing.
Under Operation Cyber in Tikamgarh district, the police recovered 150 lost mobile phones with an estimated value of about Rs 32 lakh. The handsets were formally returned to their owners after they were called to the police office.
In Dindori district, a joint operation by the cyber team and local police stations led to the recovery of 151 lost mobile phones valued at Rs 32.5 lakh. Following necessary checks and verification, the phones were restored to their genuine owners.
The Madhya Pradesh Police said that helping citizens and ensuring the return of their lost belongings remains a key responsibility. These efforts have further strengthened trust between the police and the public. Citizens have been advised to report lost mobile phones at the nearest police station or through the cyber helpline.
