Police personnel must report to new posts within seven days

  • PHQ issues strict deadline

Bhopal: Following a sweeping round of transfers affecting police personnel from inspectors to constables across Madhya Pradesh, the Police Headquarters (PHQ) now faces the challenging task of ensuring everyone reports to their new assignments promptly. Despite a seven-day deadline issued last week, many transferred officers have yet to report to their new postings.

By last Tuesday, approximately ten thousand police personnel had been transferred across the state. The subsequent process of relieving them from their old duties and ensuring they join their new posts has emerged as a significant logistical challenge. Although the transfers were finalized a week ago, and a clear seven-day window was provided for reporting to new locations, this period has now lapsed.

It’s believed that a considerable number of police personnel have still not reported to their new places of posting. The Police Headquarters may soon initiate communication with District Superintendents of Police to address this compliance issue. This directive underscores PHQ’s resolve to streamline post-transfer processes and ensure operational continuity across the force.
