Noida, Aug 15 (UNI) A cab driver in Noida drove rashly to avoid the police, leaving the family inside the vehicle severely frightened. Despite repeated pleas from the passengers, the driver continued his reckless driving.
He was later caught by the Noida Police after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
The police said that they have impounded the vehicle after issuing him a challan of Rs 29,250.
“On August 14, a video went viral showing a cab driver speeding dangerously and refusing to let passengers exit the vehicle. Taking immediate cognisance of the matter, the police have registered a case against the accused cab driver.
The driver has been taken into custody and fined Rs 29,250 for traffic violations, and the vehicle has been impounded. Further legal action is being taken,” said the police official.
The victim’s family alleged that due to the rash driving, the cab collided with another vehicle. In the viral video, the voice of a frightened child crying can be heard.
The victim shared the entire incident by posting the video on social media, where it went viral. However, the victim’s family didn’t lodge any complaint with the police.
The police took suo moto action in this respect.
“The affected family, including a wife and child, was travelling from Greater Noida to Delhi’s Connaught Place. The incident reportedly occurred near the Parthala Bridge while coming from Greater Noida West,” said the police official.
