Special police teams acted promptly to arrest 10 accused persons and seize property worth nearly Rs 97.5 lakh.
In Morena, the Civil Lines police solved a sensational highway robbery within four days. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 22 near SRD College on the AB Road, where unidentified assailants intercepted an Ertiga car, threatened the occupants with weapons and looted around Rs 19 lakh in cash. Acting on the seriousness of the crime, the Superintendent of Police constituted a special team, which examined physical evidence, scrutinised footage from over 300 CCTV cameras and activated the informer network. Suspicion fell on the victim’s driver, whose movements linked him to the crime. During interrogation, he confessed to conspiring with the vehicle owner and accomplices. Seven accused were arrested and cash, a Swift car and an air gun worth about Rs 26 lakh were recovered.
In Khandwa, police cracked a high-profile dacoity involving a jeweller in the Punasa area. Using technical inputs, CCTV analysis and inter-district coordination, three members of an organised gang were arrested, leading to the recovery of gold jewellery, cash, a country-made pistol and mobile phones valued at around Rs 71.5 lakh.
These actions underline the Madhya Pradesh Police’s firm commitment to tackling organised crime with speed and precision.
