Police crack Rs 60 lakh theft; man, nephew held

Bhopal: Shahjahanabad police have solved the Rs 60 lakh theft that occurred in July in Bright Colony, Idgah Hills. The theft was committed by a youth and his maternal uncle, who live in the complainant’s neighborhood.

Police say the stolen jewellery was sold to a jeweler in the Jahangirabad police station area, but no arrests have been made yet.

Before the incident, Mirza Iftekhar Baig (69) and his wife, Raksha Baig, had gone to their son-in-law’s farmhouse in Parwalia. Upon returning home, they discovered the main door lock was broken. When they checked the cupboard, they found his wife and daughter’s jewelry missing. The jewelry was worth Rs 60 lakh. The complainant, accompanied by his daughter, Nida Mirza, went to the Shahjahanabad police station and filed a report. They informed the police that a list of the stolen jewelry and bills would be submitted later.

FSL team conducts inspection

Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and registered a case. The FSL team inspected the scene. Police examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Based on this, they arrested neighbor Yusuf Siddiqui and his nephew, Abdul Rahman.
