New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today strongly pitched for Swadeshi and Aatmnirbhar Bharat (self- reliant India) and promote the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (one India, Excellent India).
In a letter to the people of India on the occasion of Diwali the Prime Minister said Lord Ram’s teachings of upholding righteousness, give the courage to fight injustice, a living of example of which was seen during Operation Sindoor.
‘’We have seen a living example of this a few months ago during Operation Sindoor. During Operation Sindoor, Bharat not only upheld righteousness but also avenged injustice,’’ he said.
Extending Diwali greetings to the people the Prime Minister pointed out that this is the second Deepavali after the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
‘’This Deepavali is particularly special because, for the first time, lamps will be lit in many districts across the country, including remote areas,’’ he said, referring to the districts from where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism had been eradicated.
‘’These are the districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been eradicated from the root. In recent times, many individuals had abandoned the path of violence and joined the mainstream of development, expressing faith in the Constitution of our country. ‘’This is a major achievement for the nation.’’
Referring to the GST rates which were lowered on the first day of Navratri, the Prime Minister said the country had also embarked on next-generation reforms in recent days and during this “GST Bachat Utsav” (Savings Festival), people are saving thousands of crores of rupees.
He said that in a world going through multiple crises, Bharat has emerged as a symbol of both stability and sensitivity.
‘’We are also on track to become the third-largest economy in the world in the near future,’’ he said and called upon people to ‘’fulfil our duties towards the nation in this journey of a “Viksit” (Developed) and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
‘’Let us adopt Swadeshi and proudly say This is Swadeshi. Let us promote the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. Let us respect all languages. Let us maintain cleanliness. Let us prioritize our health. Let us reduce the use of oil in our food by 10 percent and embrace Yoga. All these efforts will rapidly move us towards a Viksit Bharat,” The Prime Minister added.
He said Deepavali teaches that when one lamp lights another, its light doesn’t diminish, but it grows further. ‘’With the same spirit, let us light lamps of harmony, cooperation and positivity in our society and surroundings this Deepavali.’’
