Varanasi, Nov 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kashi, his parliamentary constituency, on November 7 for a two-day visit.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing for a grand welcome at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport as well as along the city’s main routes. The Bareka campus and Varanasi railway station are also being decorated for the occasion.
At the Bareka grounds, new helipads are under construction, while road dividers are being painted and streetlights repaired.
BJP regional president Dilip Patel said today that a list of senior BJP leaders and dignitaries whom the Prime Minister will meet on the evening of November 7 is being compiled. The outline of his welcome programme is also being finalized.
In addition, senior district officials will submit reports on ongoing development projects, including the ropeway project and the international stadium being built in Ganjari.
On November 8, Kashi will receive its eighth Vande Bharat Express from Varanasi station. To promote religious tourism, the new Vande Bharat service from Varanasi to Khajuraho will also connect Vindhyachal and Chitrakoot for the first time.
Prime Minister Modi is also expected to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Kaal Bhairav Temple, for which preparations are underway.
