PM Modi to unveil Rs 1.08 lakh cr projects in Rajasthan’s Banswara tomorrow

New Delhi, Sept 24 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Banswara, Rajasthan, on September 25 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 1.08 lakh crore.

These projects from multiple sectors aim to boost energy, transport, water, solar power, health, and digital infrastructure.

The highlight of the visit is the launch of the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara nuclear power project, a major step towards strengthening India’s clean energy capacity.

The Prime Minister will also flag off three new trains virtually, two Vande Bharat trains from Bikaner and Jodhpur to Delhi, and the Udaipur, Chandigarh Express, as per an official statement.

In the energy sector, the Prime Minister will launch the Rs 42,000 crore Mahi Banswara nuclear power project, and initiate a 590 MW renewable energy project in Bikaner, worth Rs 8,500 crore.

To improve power transmission, a network of 15.5 GW capacity will be developed across Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sirohi, Nagaur, and Bikaner, involving an investment of Rs13,183 crore.

Additionally, three new 220 kV substations will be built in Bikaner and Jaisalmer at a cost of Rs 348 crore.

A separate 220 kV substation and transmission line in Barmer, worth Rs 142 crore, will also be inaugurated.

The visit will also witness the launch of major solar energy initiatives. These include the inauguration of 1,400 MW solar power projects, and the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi, developed at a cost of Rs10,710 crore.

In addition, 895 MW of decentralised solar plants under the PM KUSUM-C scheme will be rolled out, with an estimated cost of Rs 3,132 crore.

These projects aim to promote clean energy adoption in rural and agricultural areas.

In the water sector, the Prime Minister will launch 15 drinking water projects across 11 districts, including Banswara, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Barmer, Dausa, Churu, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Sikar. These projects are worth Rs 5,884 crore.

Key irrigation works such as the Isarda dam, Dholpur lift, and Battisanala project, along with several others, will also be inaugurated.

These works amount to a combined investment of Rs 2,365 crore and are expected to benefit farmers across the region.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones for seven new road projects covering Barmer, Ajmer, Beawar, Dungarpur, Banswara, Rajsamand, and Udaipur, with a combined cost of Rs 1,758 crore.

In Bharatpur, the government will build two flyovers, a bridge over the Banas river, and 119 Atal Pragati Paths, at a cost of Rs 878 crore.

These connectivity projects are expected to reduce travel time and improve logistics in remote and semi-urban areas.

Urban infrastructure will also receive a boost with the inauguration of sewerage and water supply projects in Didwana-Kuchaman and Jhunjhunu, costing Rs 226 crore.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate a new IT Development and e-governance centre worth Rs 140 crore, along with a 250-bed hospital at RBM Hospital in Bharatpur, said the statement.
