Bhopal, : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver a powerful message on women’s empowerment from Bhopal today, participating in a major event entirely focused on women. This will be the Prime Minister’s first significant public engagement following the Indian Army’s globally acclaimed “Operation Sindoor.”
The “Women Empowerment Mega-Conference,” held at Jamboree Maidan on the birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, will see PM Modi underscore India’s unwavering commitment to protecting the dignity and self-respect of its women, asserting the nation’s capability to go to any extent to defend them if their honor is threatened.
Bhopal adorns itself for PM’s arrival
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive at Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport at 11:15 AM from New Delhi. From there, he will proceed directly to Jamboree Maidan by helicopter. The capital city has been meticulously decorated for his welcome, with hoardings and banners adorning every major intersection, thoroughfare, and road. Cut-outs of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav are prominently displayed across the city.
Stringent security measures are in place for the Prime Minister’s visit. Bhopal has been declared a No-Fly Zone, and over 3,000 security personnel, including nearly two dozen IPS officers, have been deployed.
Mega turnout expected at Jamboree Maidan
While the conference’s official target is two lakh women participants, administrative sources indicate an unofficial target of over 2.5 lakh attendees. Districts surrounding Bhopal are a key focus, with over 5,000 buses arranged to transport women to the venue. A detailed traffic plan has been announced to ensure smooth movement of these buses. Five massive domes have been erected at Jamboree Maidan to accommodate the large gathering.
PM’s tight schedule: Two hours, 10 imnutes in Bhopal
PM Modi will depart from New Delhi at 9:30 AM, arriving at Raja Bhoj Airport by 10:50 AM. He will then take an Air Force helicopter to Jamboree Maidan, reaching by 11:00 AM. The Prime Minister is expected to spend approximately an hour on stage, addressing the conference. He will depart from Jamboree Maidan by helicopter at 12:45 PM for the airport, from where he will leave for his next engagement around 1:00 PM. In total, PM Modi will be on Bhopal’s soil for approximately two hours and ten minutes.
Virtual launches and groundbreaking projects
From Jamboree Maidan, PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the Indore Metro, marking Madhya Pradesh’s entry into the league of states with operational metro services. He will also virtually inaugurate the newly constructed Satna and Datia airports.
In a major push for development, the Prime Minister will virtually lay the foundation stone for Water Resources Department projects worth ?863.69 crore. This includes ?778.91 crore for ghat construction on the Shipra River and ?84.78 crore for barrages, stop dams, and vented causeways, all crucial for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Ujjain. Furthermore, PM Modi will release ?483 crore for the construction of 1271 new Panchayat Bhavans across the state.
