PM Modi to attend Vibrant Gujarat regional meet for Kutch-Saurashtra in Rajkot on Jan 11

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajkot on January 11, 2026, to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra region, a key initiative aimed at boosting region-specific industrial development and investment in western Gujarat, a government release Friday said.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Trade Show at the conference at around 1:30 PM. Shortly thereafter, at around 2 PM, he will formally inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference at Marwadi University, Rajkot, and address the gathering. On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi will also announce the development of 14 greenfield smart Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation Limited (GIDC) estates and inaugurate the GIDC Medical Device Park in Rajkot, underscoring the Centre and state’s push for industrial infrastructure and healthcare manufacturing.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra will be held from January 11 to 12, 2026, and will cater to 12 districts across the two regions. Dedicated exclusively to Kutch and Saurashtra, the conference seeks to generate fresh momentum for investment, industrial expansion and employment generation in western Gujarat.

The conference will focus on a wide range of sectors, including ceramics, engineering, ports and logistics, fisheries, petrochemicals, agro and food processing, minerals, green energy ecosystem, skill development, startups, MSMEs, tourism and culture, among others. Japan, South Korea, Rwanda and Ukraine will participate as partner countries, reflecting the emphasis on global engagement and international collaboration.

The Rajkot event is part of the state government’s broader effort to expand the reach of the Vibrant Gujarat platform through region-specific conferences. The first such Regional Conference for North Gujarat was held in Mehsana on October 9–10, 2025. Following the Kutch-Saurashtra edition, similar conferences are scheduled for South Gujarat in Surat on April 9–10, 2026, and for Central Gujarat in Vadodara on June 10–11, 2026.

Aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and building on the legacy of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the Regional Conferences aim to promote decentralised development, improve ease of doing business, encourage innovation-led growth and create sustainable employment opportunities across the state. By taking the Vibrant Gujarat initiative closer to individual regions, the programme seeks to empower local economies and attract strategic investments tailored to regional strengths.

The outcomes and achievements of these Regional Conferences will be showcased at the next edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled to be held in January 2027, where Gujarat’s evolving growth story will be presented on a global stage.
