New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a telephone call from his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday evening, where the two leaders reviewed the robust India-Israel Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on the situation in West Asia.
The Prime Ministers expressed mutual satisfaction at the “continued momentum” in the bilateral strategic partnership and committed to “further strengthening these ties for mutual benefit,” a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The conversation underscores the importance both nations place on elevating their cooperation across various sectors, which recently included a focus on defence, technology, and innovation.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on global security, with both leaders issuing a strong, unified stance against extremism.
“The two leaders strongly condemned terrorism and reiterated their zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the PMO statement confirmed.
The joint condemnation reinforces the shared security interests between New Delhi and Tel Aviv, which have historically collaborated closely on counter-terrorism efforts.
During the exchange of views on the ongoing situation in West Asia, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to regional stability.
“PM Modi reaffirmed India’s support for efforts towards a just and durable peace in the region, including early implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan,” the statement noted, reasserting that it reiterates India’s long-standing position favouring dialogue, diplomacy, and a peaceful resolution to conflicts, signaling strong backing for the US-brokered plan aimed at securing stability in the volatile region.
The leaders concluded their conversation by agreeing to remain in close touch.
