Increase in income from fish farming and fish parlor

In his Mann Ki Baat address, PM Modi highlighted two inspiring initiatives from Madhya Pradesh. He shared that in Raipura village, Dindori district, the construction of a large pond has led to a significant rise in the groundwater level, greatly benefiting the women of the village. The Sharda Aajeevika SHG, along with the women involved, has ventured into fish farming, creating a sustainable livelihood. These women have also launched a fish parlor, which has become a valuable source of income.

Barren land made fertile with silt from the pond

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the efforts of women in Chhatarpur of Madhya Pradesh are also very commendable. When the huge pond of Khomp village here started to dry up, the women took the initiative to revive it. The women of Hari Bagiya self-help group removed a large amount of silt (soil) from the pond. They used the silt (soil) that came out of the pond to create a food forest on the barren land.
