New Delhi, Sept 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new office of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here, located at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg with much fanfare, underscoring the party’s commitment to good governance, development, and service to the people.
Addressing the gathering, Modi reflected on the spirit of cultural unity, saying, “When we think about landing at Singapore Airport during Diwali, the lights are beautifully arranged there, and Diwali greetings are displayed.”
He urged Delhi BJP workers to embrace festivals from across the country, describing the national capital as a “mini India.”
Blending modern facilities with traditional architectural elegance, the BJP’s permanent state office inauguration coincided with the seventh day of Navratri, adding festive significance.
Modi added, “The Delhi BJP and government must work shoulder to shoulder to steer Delhi towards becoming a developed city and a strong pillar of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat). Every representative in this office carries the hopes and expectations of the people, and it is our shared responsibility to fulfill them.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the ongoing ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign, aimed at providing free health check-ups for women, calling it “a major initiative for the health of our sisters and daughters.”
Recalling the contributions of stalwarts like the late Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, and Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Modi paid tribute to their service and dedication to Delhi BJP. He emphasised, “BJP is a government of service, not merely of power. As we step into this new office, we must remember that our work here is not for convenience, but for service.”
The Prime Minister lauded the BJP and NDA governments for setting new benchmarks in governance, guided by the dual mantra of development and preservation.
He said, “Delhi BJP and the government are working hard for the people—building new homes for slum dwellers, improving hundreds of government schools and hospitals, upgrading electric infrastructure, cleaning the city, creating better living spaces along the Yamuna river, and speeding up metro services. We will continue to work shoulder to shoulder to realize the dream of a developed India and a developed Delhi.
“We have made the security of our countrymen our highest priority. We have freed the country from major scams and inspired faith in the decisive fight against corruption,” he said in a veiled attack on the previous governments. The Prime Minister also talked about the implementation of the GST 2.0 from September 22 which has given great relief to the common masses.
Earlier, before inaugurating the Delhi BJP’s new office, Modi praised the city leaders’ struggles in the past and hoped the new premises would infuse new energy in the outfit.
In a post on social media X, the Prime Minister said, “The history of BJP workers in Delhi has been a unique example of struggle and dedication. Amidst every challenge, they not only kept the organisation alive but also made an extraordinary contribution to strengthening it.”
BJP Chief and union Health Minister JP Nadda said that after a long wait, the Delhi BJP unit finally has its own well-equipped office. He credited this achievement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication and unwavering commitment to turning the vision into reality.
Earlier Delhi Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister’s decisive actions on key issues such as Operation Sindoor, the Surgical Strike, the abrogation of Article 370, and the Triple Talaq ban. Speaking at the inauguration of the new Delhi BJP office, she described these decisions as a source of inspiration for party workers across the country.
Gupta also expressed pride that the new office was being inaugurated by the Prime Minister himself, marking a significant moment for the party’s presence in the national capital.
The newly inaugurated five-storey BJP office in Delhi, spread over 30,000 square feet on an 825-square-metre plot, features distinctive South Indian architectural elements, including tall pillars and an elegant façade.
The eco-friendly building is equipped with two basement levels for ample parking, modern communication facilities, meeting halls, and designated spaces for organising party activities, establishing it as a key centre for BJP’s operations in the national capital.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva described the office as a “remarkable achievement,” tracing the party’s journey from its initial office at Ajmeri Gate to 35 years at Pandit Pant Marg. Constructed at a cost of ₹2.23 crore, the building embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, reflecting the party’s forward-looking vision.
The inauguration ceremony also saw Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performing a havan. Senior leaders including Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Harsh Malhotra, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and Yogender Chandolia BJP and thousands of party workers attended the occasion.
