New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning left on a three-day visit to the US to participate in the Quad Summit and address the Summit of the Future at the UNGA.
In a departure statement, the PM said he is looking forward to joining his Quad colleagues President Joe Biden of the US, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan for the summit being held at President Biden’s hometown Wilmington, Delaware, later this evening.
“The forum has emerged as a key group of like-minded countries to work for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region,” he said.
He said his bilateral meeting with President Biden, to be held later today, will allow the two sides “to review and identify new pathways to further deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good”.
PM Modi said he is eagerly looking forward to engaging with the Indian diaspora and important American business leaders, who are the key stakeholders and provide vibrancy to the unique partnership between the largest and the oldest democracies of the world.
The interaction with the Indian diaspora is being held on September 22 in Long Island, New York.
There will also be a technology Roundtable on the day, with the participation of a number of Tech CEOs. There will also be separate and several other meetings with CEOs and other stakeholders.
PM Modi said the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly on September 23 is an opportunity for the global community to chart the road ahead for the betterment of humanity.
“I will share views of the one sixth of the humanity as their stakes in a peaceful and secure future are among the highest in the world,” he said.
