PM Modi distributes over 51,000 appointment letters at Diwali Rozgar Mela, calls a step towards ‘Viksit Bharat’

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 youth at the Rozgar Mela, calling the occasion a celebration of not just jobs but India’s ongoing journey towards a developed and self-reliant nation.

Addressing the event via videoconference, Modi said, “This year’s Diwali has brought new light into everyone’s lives. Receiving permanent job appointment letters during this festive season adds a double dose of happiness for the youth and their families. I congratulate all the appointees and wish them success in their new roles.”

Highlighting the significance of this milestone, the Prime Minister said, “The enthusiasm, hard work, and confidence that come from fulfilling dreams, combined with a passion to serve the nation, turn individual success into a victory for India.” He urged the new officers to “work with integrity, sincerity, and uphold the spirit of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’.”

Tracing the progress of India’s youth empowerment, Modi noted, “For the past 11 years, the nation has marched forward with the youth playing a central role. Rozgar Melas have become a powerful platform, with over 11 lakh appointment letters issued recently.” Modi also spoke about ambitious government initiatives like the ‘PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana’ aimed at creating 3.5 crore jobs, and skill development programs such as the Skill India Mission and the National Career Service, which have already shared information on over 7 crore vacancies. In a major announcement, Modi unveiled the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’ to provide opportunities for candidates who reached the final stages of UPSC exams but were not selected.

“Their talents will not go to waste; both public and private sectors are engaging with these bright individuals through this portal,” he said.

Linking the festive mood to economic reforms, Modi praised the recent GST Bachat Utsav. “GST rate cuts have saved consumers thousands of crores and are turning this festival into an ‘Employment Festival.’ Cheaper goods boost demand, increase production, and create new jobs, especially in MSMEs and retail,” he explained.

Reflecting on India’s demographic advantage, Modi said, “India is the youngest country in the world, and our youth are our greatest asset. This strength drives progress at home and shapes our foreign policy.” He highlighted growing partnerships with countries like the UK, Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada, which are expected to generate thousands of jobs and open global opportunities for Indian youth.

Wrapping up his address, the Prime Minister encouraged the new appointees to engage with the ‘i-Got Karmayogi Bharat Platform’ for continuous learning and fostering good governance. “Your dedication will shape India’s future and fulfill the dreams of millions,” he said. The Rozgar Mela, held in the spirit of Diwali, stands as a beacon of hope and progress, marking a significant milestone in India’s mission for inclusive growth and youth empowerment.
