New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today celebrated the sixth anniversary of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship government initiative, stating that it has brought significant change to millions of households by providing access to safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the mission has not only improved living conditions but has also strengthened healthcare outcomes, especially benefiting women, whom he referred to as India’s ‘Nari Shakti.’

In response to posts by MyGovIndia on social media platform X, Modi said, “We mark #6YearsOfJalJeevanMission, a scheme that focuses on dignity and transforming lives. It has also ensured better healthcare, especially for our Nari Shakti.”

Launched in 2019, the Jal Jeevan Mission has become a key part of the government’s efforts to improve rural India. In just a few years, the scheme has delivered clean drinking water to over 15 crore households, leading to better health, empowered communities, and new opportunities for many, said a statement by the government.
