PM condoles loss of lives in Pune’s Jejuri-Morgaon road mishap; announces ex-gratia

New Delhi, June 19 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed condolences over the loss of lives in a tragic road accident on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune, Maharashtra.

He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs from Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.

According to reports quoting Pune police, eight people died and four others including two children were injured in a road accident on Tuesday evening on the Jejuri-Morgaon Road in Pune district, Maharashtra.

The PMO in a post on X wrote: “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune, Maharashtra. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.

“An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000,” said the post.
