
New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep condolences to the families of those killed in the tragic car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station this evening.
“Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest,” the Prime Minister said.
The explosion claimed the lives of at least ten people, with many others sustaining injuries. Several vehicles were also damaged in the devastating incident.
PM Modi reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and other top officials, directing authorities to ensure prompt and comprehensive assistance to all those affected.
The Home Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the ongoing response and the immediate launch of a multi-agency investigation. Forensic teams, along with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG), have been deployed to the site to gather evidence.
Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha confirmed that a high alert has been issued across the entire capital. Police officers are actively collecting information from the injured and eyewitnesses. The Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) is anticipated to address the media shortly with further updates.
Leaders from the Opposition, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, have strongly condemned the blast. They have also extended their condolences to the victims’ families and called for a thorough and swift investigation into the incident.
